Democratic Candidate Barbara Boxer Republican Candidate Carly Fiorina
California Senate Boxer vs. Fiorina
Economy
Boxer wants to cut taxes for the middle class and and clean energy. What she wants for economics is close to what the Democratic Party wants for economics because she voted for tax cuts on every bill and act that has been passed and the Democratic party wants additional tax cuts for middle class families.
Fiorina believes in creating jobs, fiscal responsibility and reducing the national debt. This is close to the GOP's stance on economics because the believe in fiscal responsibility which includes people working off their debts where creating new jobs would greatly help and by reducing spending to increase the amount of money the country has.
Environment and Energy
Boxer wants clean air, clean water protection of biomes and wildlife and climate change. She is more into the environment than the Democratic party because they only say they want freedom from foreign oil and to care about climate change. Most of her issues are however related to the state of California
Fiorina wants clean energy and freedom from foreign oil. She goes further than the GOP ideals on energy because of the fact that she wants to stop the dependance on foreign oil.
Immigration
Boxer wants more ways for immigrants to become citizens and opportunities for those immigrants. Her views differ from what the Democratic Party wants which is stronger border security but for immigrants who obey the law a chance to become citizens.
Fiorina wants to strengthen border security and was for immigrants who have important jobs in our economy to get temporary work visas. This is different from what the GOP wants which is for their to be no illegal immigrants and no illegal immigrant related crimes.
Boxer was a former stock broker with a bachelors degree in economics for Brooklyn College. She has been on many committees during her time in politics. Boxer has served on the House Of Representatives She supports health care, after school programs, the stimulus plan and the environment.
Fiorina is the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard. She increased her company's revenue by twice as much during the dot com era. She has been the only woman to lead a fortune 20 company. She has a masters in business science from the University of Maryland.
There is some bias in the news about the Boxer vs Fiorina race. I am mostly finding that the bias is against Fiorina. The media is
on all the bad things that she has been involved with. Boxer is getting more positive coverage because all the sotries involving her don't talk about what she has done just her issues. Boxer is however getting a lot less coverage than her opponent because of them just focusing on her issues.

Barbara Boxer has won the race for Senate in California. I think that the primary reason that she won was because the California is a largely democratic state.
